FAQs

What is an electrical apprenticeship?

An electrical apprenticeship in Australia is a paid training program that combines on-site work with classroom study to become a licensed electrician. Over four years, apprentices gain hands-on experience, complete a Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician (UEE30820), and learn essential electrical skills, safety standards, and industry regulations. This pathway leads to an A-Class Electrician Licence and long-term career opportunities in the electrical industry.

How can I hire an electrical apprentice?

Hiring an electrical apprentice through us is simple, fast, and fully compliant with Australian standards.

  • Tell us your project requirements
  • We handle recruitment and onboarding ensuring the apprentices are pre-screened, safety-trained (e.g. White Card, EWP, Working at Heights), and job-ready.
  • We manage wages, tax, super, PPE, and insurance—ensuring all legal and award obligations are met.
  • We liaise with RTOs to help streamline the training contract and ongoing progression.

What is a Group Training Organisation (GTO)?

Impact Apprentices is a Group Training Organisation (GTO), which means we directly employ apprentices and place them with host employers across the industry. This setup gives apprentices extra security and ongoing support, and it relieves businesses from admin headaches like payroll, HR, and training coordination.

As your GTO, we stay with you every step of the way. From managing the paperwork, mentoring the apprentice, to ensuring everything stays on track, to name a few. Starting an electrical apprenticeship is one of the best ways to enter the electrical trade and work towards becoming a licensed electrician in Australia. At Impact Apprentices, we make the process easy.

Once you’re selected, we handle your apprenticeship contract, organise your formal training with a Registered Training Organisation (RTO), manage your wages, and provide ongoing mentoring and support throughout your electrical apprenticeship. You’ll gain hands-on experience in real worksite conditions while completing a nationally recognised qualification, Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician, which typically takes around four years to complete.
